U.S. Congressman Tom McClintock, who represents California’s 5th district, recently posted updates on his official X account regarding meetings with local leaders and responses to community crises.
On September 3, 2025, McClintock wrote: “It was a pleasure speaking with credit union leaders from California’s 5th District about measures to protect consumers and strengthen free markets. These institutions provide important resources and financial services to over 280,000 people in our district.”
Later that day, he addressed the impact of a recent natural disaster in the region: “Our thoughts are with the victims of the TCU September Lightning Complex. My office is in touch with local officials. I am heartened by the generosity of the community stepping in to help those in need during this difficult time. Tuolumne Cal-OES is staffing a dedicated fire” (September 3, 2025).
On September 5, 2025, McClintock highlighted his engagement with law enforcement: “I was proud to meet with law enforcement leaders from across our district, including Fresno, Madera, and Mariposa counties. I appreciated hearing about how they are handling the ongoing fentanyl crisis and applaud their work to keep our communities safe.”
Tom McClintock has served as U.S. Representative for California’s 5th District since 2009 after succeeding John Doolittle. He previously held positions in both the California State Assembly (1996-2000) and California Senate (2000-2008). Born in White Plains, New York in 1956 and currently residing in Elk Grove, McClintock graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
