Tom McClintock, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 5th district since 2009, has highlighted recent legislative actions and policy views in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On July 24, 2025, McClintock announced the passage of his Proven Forest Management Act by the House Natural Resources Committee. In his words: “I was proud to see @NatResources pass my Proven Forest Management Act expanding the categorical exclusion for forest management projects that was secured for the Tahoe Basin in the 2016 WIIN Act. This is critical for reducing forest fuels that allow forest fires to rage.”
Later that day, he reported another legislative development concerning wildfire response: “The @NatResources passed my Put Out the Fire Act to improve and strengthen the United States Forest Service response to wildfires. Only the Forest Service can prevent forest fires, and with policies like ‘let burn’ costing us both countless acres and millions of dollars in” (July 24, 2025).
On July 25, 2025, McClintock addressed immigration issues on the House floor. He wrote: “ICYMI: I spoke on the House floor highlighting Democrat outrage that the largest illegal mass migration in history that they unleashed on our country must now be followed by the largest repatriation in history. America admits more legal immigrants under our laws than any nation”.
McClintock has served as a member of Congress since replacing John Doolittle in 2009 and previously held positions in both the California State Assembly (1996-2000) and California Senate (2000-2008). Born in White Plains, New York in 1956, he currently resides in Elk Grove. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA, earned in 1988.
