On May 19, 2025, McClintock commented on President Biden’s proposed legislation. He stated that without the “Big Beautiful Bill,” an average family in his district would face an increase of $2,007 in federal income taxes next year. “Bottom line on the President’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill:’ without it, an average family in our district will pay $2,007 in additional federal income taxes next year.”
Later that day, McClintock expressed gratitude for receiving the Club for Growth’s highest accolade. He noted that the organization is a leading advocate for free market principles in America. “Honored to again receive the Club for Growth’s highest award, ‘Defender of Economic Freedom.’ Club for Growth is a foremost leader for free market principles in America.”
On May 20, 2025, McClintock met with Mayor Amy Bublak of Turlock to discuss homelessness issues exacerbated by policies under Governor Gavin Newsom. They explored potential solutions for Turlock residents facing these challenges. “Great to meet with Mayor Amy Bublak of Turlock. Homelessness has run rampant in California, no thanks to Gavin Newsom. We discussed a path towards a solution for Turlock residents.”
