Tom McClintock, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 5th district since 2009, recently shared several updates via social media on key political issues and events. McClintock, who has been active in politics for decades, offers insights into current legislative efforts and national concerns.
On May 21, 2025, McClintock announced his appearance on Newsmax to discuss President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” He encouraged followers to “check out the full interview here” for more details on the bill’s status.
The following day, on May 22, 2025, McClintock addressed an incident of violence at the Jewish Museum in Washington. He highlighted the dangers posed by extremist elements within society and urged those inciting such behavior to cease their actions. He stated that “we should all beware of a growing lunatic fringe among us capable of the most heinous acts.”
Later that day, McClintock commented on the House passage of what he referred to as the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he believes is a step towards reinstating pro-growth policies reminiscent of Ronald Reagan’s era. According to him, these policies have the potential to usher in a “New Golden Age” under Donald Trump. He noted that “that’s what the Democrats fear most.”
Tom McClintock has represented California’s 5th District since replacing John Doolittle in 2009. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the California State Assembly and Senate. Born in White Plains, New York in 1956 and now residing in Elk Grove, McClintock holds a BA from UCLA.
