He stated optimistically, “Enjoyed meeting with local business leaders during their annual Cap-to-Cap trip. We spoke about the need for tax and regulatory relief and the importance of free trade to our economy. I’m optimistic we’ll have these policies in place by summer.”
On May 8, McClintock highlighted his support for freer global trade following an agreement with the UK. He remarked on the benefits such arrangements bring to all involved countries: “The freer the trade, the greater the benefits for all countries involved. The UK agreement takes us in the right direction. Let’s keep going toward a new golden age of global free trade and the peace and prosperity it produces.”
Tom McClintock has served in Congress since replacing John Doolittle in 2009. Prior to this role, he was part of California’s State Assembly from 1996 to 2000 and served in its Senate from 2000 to 2008.
