On July 7, 2025, McClintock expressed optimism about a new secretarial order signed by Secretary Burgum. He stated that both he and Chairman Westerman celebrated the order’s signing last week. McClintock highlighted its significance by saying, “I am confident that this secretarial order ushers in a new era of cooperation between the park and our local communities.” He noted that these gateway communities heavily rely on tourism.
Later that day, McClintock criticized Democratic leaders for their stance on what he referred to as the “Big Bill.” In his view, Democrats’ approach is misguided. On July 7, 2025, he tweeted: “Democrats’ fearmongering on the Big Bill is a Big Mistake.” He further suggested that Americans would soon appreciate benefits such as higher pay and expanding opportunities.
On July 8, 2025, McClintock took to social media again to discuss immigration enforcement laws. He emphasized adherence to existing legal frameworks regarding illegal aliens and criticized those opposing ICE’s enforcement actions. He tweeted: “We should all agree on the rule of law.” While addressing critics directly by name.
Tom McClintock has been serving in Congress since replacing John Doolittle in 2009. Before this role, he was part of California’s State Assembly and Senate over several terms from 1996 until joining Congress. Born in White Plains, New York in 1956 and currently residing in Elk Grove at age 66; McClintock holds a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA obtained back in ’88.
