Tom McClintock, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 5th district, has been active on social media discussing various issues. Serving since 2009, McClintock often shares his perspectives on political and societal matters.
On June 13, 2025, McClintock shared “Some helpful tips: Don’t disrupt other people’s press conferences. Hold your own instead. Don’t bum-rush a podium with no visible identification. In fact, don’t bum-rush a podium at all. Don’t resist or assault the Secret Service. It won’t end well.” He advised against certain behaviors during public events and interactions with security personnel.
The following day, June 14, 2025, he expressed his concern over recent violent incidents in Minnesota: “Appalled at Minnesota shootings. Whether the victims are left or right, these are attacks on us all and on our democratic form of government. Prayers for the families and for speedy apprehension and punishment of this monster.” McClintock condemned the violence as an attack on democracy.
On June 16, 2025, McClintock commented on international affairs regarding Iran: “Iran’s despotic regime is like a rotting porch waiting to collapse, and it’s especially vulnerable in the righteous storm that Israel has unleashed. Now is the time to provide maximum support to the Iranian resistance groups who can bring this tyranny crashing down from within.” He advocated for supporting Iranian resistance groups amid regional tensions.
Tom McClintock has served in Congress since replacing John Doolittle in 2009 after previous roles in California’s State Assembly and Senate.
