Tom McClintock, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 5th district since 2009, recently posted a series of tweets addressing political control in Washington, D.C., the progress of the Trump administration, and agricultural policy discussions.
On August 11, 2025, McClintock wrote: “The left has done to Washington, D.C. what it has done to every city it controls – including rampant crime and homelessness. Voters own that, but D.C. belongs to the entire country – and it’s high time the country took it back. Pres. Trump has started; Congress needs to finish.”
The following day, August 12, he shared: “We’re 200 days into Trump’s second term. It was a pleasure to sit down with Dan Ball to discuss the America First agenda in congress and more. Check out the full interview here:

Later on August 12, McClintock tweeted about an event focused on agriculture: “Great roundtable discussion of issues pertaining to farming and agriculture with members of the ag community, Farm Bureau, federal agency representatives, elected officials, water districts and stakeholders. Thank you to the federal agency representatives that came out to speak. https://t.co/jY5DfOEFU9”
