Tom McClintock, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 5th district, has been vocal on various issues through his social media presence. He has served in Congress since 2009, following his tenure in the California State Assembly and Senate. In recent tweets, McClintock addresses topics ranging from economic policy to national security and immigration.

On November 20, 2024, McClintock proposed to Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy that “to balance the budget and improve the economy – just say NO to subsidies.” He suggested that eliminating subsidies could save “hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars” and potentially “reinvigorate the economy.” “A proposal to @elonmusk & @VivekGRamaswamy: to balance the budget and improve the economy – just say NO to subsidies. A subsidies hunt will save hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars and reduce the overall cost of the things being subsidized. It will reinvigorate the economy.”

The following day, on November 21, 2024, McClintock highlighted an article from Fox News regarding Iran’s alleged activities to evade sanctions by hiding missile and drone programs under commercial fronts. He emphasized its importance by sharing it with his followers. “Important read from @FoxNews: “Iran hiding missile, drone programs under guise of commercial front to evade sanctions” ⬇️”

On November 22, 2024, McClintock expressed concern over unaccompanied alien children being placed with poorly vetted sponsors in the United States. He criticized the Biden Administration for losing track of approximately 150,000 children and called it a “tragedy of immense proportions,” urging for stronger border security measures. “Unaccompanied alien children are parceled out to poorly vetted sponsors in the United States. The Biden Administration has lost track of 150,000 of these children. It is a tragedy of immense proportions. We have to secure our borders.”
