Tom McClintock, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 5th district, has recently shared his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. McClintock, who has been serving in Congress since 2009 and previously held positions in the California State Assembly and Senate, addressed topics ranging from committee appearances to international human rights concerns.

On December 4, 2024, McClintock criticized an agency head for appearing unprepared before a committee. He expressed his disappointment by stating: “You were asked these questions in September. You were told in advance they would be asked again. There’s no excuse for you appearing before this committee unprepared. This is one of the saddest appearances by an agency head that I have observed in the US House of Representatives.”

The following day, December 5, 2024, McClintock issued a joint statement with Representative Cohen condemning Iran’s use of death sentences against political prisoners. The tweet read: “Statement with @RepCohen condemning Iranian death sentences for political prisoners.”

On December 6, 2024, McClintock commented on economic policies and political dynamics within the United States. He stated: “I watched the socialist left destroy California’s economy for several decades. Now, they’re trying to destroy our nation’s economy and Ramaswamy and Musk are standing in their way. The Republican conference has to stand behind them, and I think that it will. Times have changed.”
