Placerville Union Elementary School District's schools enrolled 1,167 students in the 2022-23 school year, 0.3% less than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.7% of them were boys, and 47% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 57.1% of the Placerville Union Elementary School District's total enrollment.

Placerville Union Elementary School District covers three schools within El Dorado County with its main office in Placerville.

Among the three schools in Placerville Union Elementary School District, Sierra Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 404 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
