Pioneer Union Elementary School District's schools enrolled 275 students in the 2022-23 school year, 3.5% less than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 69.4% of the Pioneer Union Elementary School District's total enrollment.

Pioneer Union Elementary School District covers three schools within El Dorado County with its main office in Somerset.

Among the three schools in Pioneer Union Elementary School District, Pioneer Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 170 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
