Mother Lode Union Elementary School District's schools enrolled 840 students in the 2022-23 school year, 3.8% less than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 60.2% of the Mother Lode Union Elementary School District's total enrollment.

Mother Lode Union Elementary School District covers two schools within El Dorado County with its main office in Placerville.

Among the two schools in Mother Lode Union Elementary School District, Indian Creek Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 466 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
