On February 6, Alvarado-Gil posted about a national health awareness event: “Today is ‘National Wear Red Day!’ Women need to be aware that cardiovascular disease is their greatest health threat. Learn more about heart disease and stroke in women at https://t.co/nwmDNbWytT. United, we can improve the lives of all women! #HeartHealth #RedForWomen https://t.co/WccRkIiMKj”. National Wear Red Day is observed annually to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease among women, which remains the leading cause of death for women in the United States.
Later on February 6, Alvarado-Gil acknowledged local nonprofit leaders: “I enjoyed welcoming Morgan Gace of the Habitat for Humanity Calaveras and Anita Hellam from the Merced- Stanislaus Chapter this week! It was great to catch up with this important nonprofit organization that contributes so much to their communities. #HabitatForHumanity https://t.co/P0IHuKU6kZ”. Habitat for Humanity is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to building affordable housing and improving living conditions for families in need.
